At La Maison du Vin, we are delighted to introduce three exciting new arrivals that celebrate the rich heritage of Cypriot viticulture. Produced by two respected wineries, Dafermou Winery in Lefkara and Nelion Winery in Paphos, these wines highlight the remarkable potential of Cyprus’ indigenous varieties. Dafermou Winery has become known for its commitment to local grapes and quality-focused winemaking, while Nelion Winery continues to produce expressive mountain wines that capture the spirit of western Cyprus.
The Yiannoudi grape is often regarded as one of the most promising red indigenous varieties of Cyprus. Once almost forgotten, it has made a remarkable comeback thanks to passionate producers such as Dafermou Winery.

Deep ruby red with youthful purple highlights.
Aromatic and expressive with notes of ripe black cherries, blackberry, plum, Mediterranean herbs, bay leaf, and subtle sweet spices from oak ageing.
Rich and structured with impressive concentration. Layers of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones are supported by firm yet polished tannins. The finish is long, elegant, and distinctly Mediterranean. The wine is matured in French oak, adding complexity and ageing potential.
Perfect with slow-cooked lamb, beef stifado, grilled pork, game dishes, aged halloumi, and mature hard cheeses.

Morokanella is one of Cyprus’ rarest white grape varieties. For many years it remained virtually unknown, but today it is attracting growing attention from wine enthusiasts seeking unique and authentic wines.

Fresh and aromatic with notes of citrus, white peach, pear, green apple, and delicate floral hints.
Vibrant and refreshing with excellent acidity and impressive texture. Flavours of citrus fruits and orchard fruits are complemented by mineral nuances and a long, persistent finish. Morokanella is increasingly recognised as one of Cyprus’ most exciting indigenous white varieties.

Xynisteri is Cyprus’ most widely planted indigenous white grape and has been cultivated on the island for centuries. When carefully selected and expertly vinified, it can produce wines of remarkable elegance and complexity.
