Dafermou Morokanella is an expressive dry white wine produced exclusively from Morokanella, one of Cyprus’s rarest indigenous grape varieties.
Produced by Dafermou Winery near Pano Lefkara, the wine reflects the winery’s commitment to preserving local grape varieties and showcasing the modern quality of Cypriot wine.
Bright and aromatic, the bouquet reveals white peach, pear and green apple alongside lemon, orange zest and delicate tropical fruit. Floral notes and subtle hints of quince and almond add further complexity.
The palate is full-bodied yet refreshing, with crisp acidity providing energy and balance. Citrus and orchard-fruit flavours are complemented by delicate mineral nuances, leading to a clean and persistent finish.
Morokanella is increasingly recognised as one of Cyprus’s most exciting indigenous white grapes. This characterful wine is an excellent introduction to the island’s lesser-known varieties and a versatile partner for Mediterranean cuisine.
