Château Brane-Cantenac 2018 is one of the standout wines from the Margaux appellation and a classified Second Growth from the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The estate sits on exceptional gravel soils in the heart of Margaux, producing wines known for their elegance, aromatic complexity, and remarkable ageing potential.

The 2018 vintage combines power with precision. A warm growing season produced beautifully ripe fruit while careful vineyard management preserved freshness and balance. The result is a structured and refined Margaux with depth, purity, and classic Bordeaux character.

Silky tannins, vibrant dark fruit, and delicate floral notes make this wine both impressive in youth and suitable for long cellaring.

Description

Grape: 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot

Winemaking
Grapes are harvested by hand and sorted carefully in the winery to ensure only the best fruit is used. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats with gentle extraction to preserve the finesse typical of Margaux wines. Each parcel is vinified separately before the final blend is assembled.

Ageing
The wine is aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, with a significant proportion of new oak. This maturation adds complexity, subtle spice, and structure while allowing the fruit character and terroir expression to remain at the forefront.
