Description
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
The Albert Bichot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru “Les Malconsorts” 2022, from Domaine du Clos Frantin, is a refined and highly expressive red Burgundy made from 100% Pinot Noir.
Les Malconsorts is one of the most celebrated Premier Cru climats in Vosne-Romanée, situated in an exceptional location close to La Tâche and near several of Burgundy’s most famous Grand Cru vineyards. Domaine du Clos Frantin owns 1.75 hectares of this highly regarded terroir, with vines averaging between 35 and 40 years of age. The vineyard benefits from an east-south-eastern exposure and limestone-based rendzine soils, contributing to the wine’s elegance, aromatic complexity and refined structure.
The 2022 vintage offers a graceful combination of ripe red and black fruit, freshness and polished tannins. The nose opens with cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant, supported by delicate wood tones and subtle spice. On the palate, the wine is generous and enveloping, with a silky texture, fine tannins and a long, persistent finish marked by liquorice and dark fruit.
A serious Premier Cru Burgundy with both immediate appeal and excellent ageing potential, this is a distinguished addition to a fine Burgundy collection and an outstanding choice for special occasions in Cyprus.
Ageing Potential
This Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru can be enjoyed now after careful decanting, but it will gain additional complexity and depth with further bottle ageing. It is expected to develop beautifully from approximately 2028 and can mature until 2032 and beyond under suitable cellar conditions.
Serving Suggestions
Serve at 16–17°C. Decant for approximately 30 minutes before serving, particularly when enjoying the wine in its youth.
For optimum development, store horizontally in a cool, dark and temperature-controlled wine cellar.
