Matua

From Sancerre to Marlborough
Clos Henri
Clos Henri was established in Marlborough in 2000 by the Bourgeois family of Sancerre, bringing generations of experience with Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir to New Zealand’s Wairau Valley.
The estate is fully certified organic and works with distinct glacial-stone and clay soils. Its wines are more textural and terroir-focused, combining Marlborough’s vivid fruit with a refined, mineral style inspired by the family’s French heritage.
Clos Henri Otira Sauvignon Blanc
A distinctive single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc shaped by ancient glacial river stones. Mostly fermented in stainless steel, with a small portion in older oak, then matured on fine lees for greater texture and depth.
- Colour: Brilliant golden yellow
- Nose: Ripe peach, candied citrus and elderflower
- Palate: Rich yet balanced, with white fruit and fresh acidity
- Finish: Long, dry and gently mineral
