Description
Grape: 100% Merlot
Soil Composition: Gravel, clay and silt
Winemaking:
In thermoregulated concrete and stainless steel vats. Gentle and controlled maceration and extraction. 16 to
18 months in French oak barrels, of which 30-40% are new.
|
Colour Deep ruby with purple reflections, showing excellent depth and youthful vibrancy. |
|
Bouquet Elegant and aromatic, offering ripe black cherry, plum, and blackberry, followed by notes of violets, graphite, and subtle oak spice. Hints of cocoa and truffle emerge with aeration, typical of fine Pomerol terroir. |
|
Flavour Medium to full-bodied with refined tannins and a silky texture. The palate mirrors the nose with layers of dark fruit, mocha, and a touch of liquorice. Fresh acidity brings balance, while the finish is long and graceful with notes of spice and mineral tension. |
Eminently approachable, even in its youth, Lafleur-Gazin is a delightful expression of the lighter style of
Pomerol wines.
Situated on the northern edge of the plateau of Pomerol, nestled between Château Gazin and Château La
Fleur-Pétrus, this wine has been produced by Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1976.
