Description
Grape: 94% Shiraz and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaking and maturation
The fruit was selected from exceptional vineyard parcels across the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley. The regions experienced relatively mild conditions and an extended, orderly ripening season, allowing the Shiraz to develop concentration while retaining freshness and balance.
Grange’s signature combination of multi-regional fruit, barrel fermentation and new American oak produced a wine of immense depth, structural precision and long-term ageing capacity.
Matured for 18 months in 100% new American oak hogsheads, Penfolds Grange 2021 is a monumental wine built for long-term cellaring. Penfolds recommends a peak drinking window of 2027–2060, although leading critics believe it may continue developing beyond this period.
