Description
Grape: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot and 20% Sangiovese
In the lovely hills of Tuscany, south of Florence, the 12th-century castle is surrounded by vines. On the 102 hectare estate, 52 hectares grow vines and 20 hectares of olive trees, the rest consists of fruit trees and woods.
Winemaking
After the grapes are harvested, they are immediately taken to the Castello di Gabbiano winery. Some of the grapes are cold macerated in stainless steel tanks before temperature-controlled maceration. The 6-month maturation in large oak barrels ensures the wonderful color and soft tannins.
