Colour
Deep, intense purple-red, almost black at the core.
Bouquet
Highly expressive and elegant, with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, ripe plum and wild blueberries. Floral notes of violet and rose petal are complemented by cedar, tobacco, cocoa, gentle spice and a subtle earthy character.
Flavour
Full-bodied, refined and wonderfully balanced. Concentrated black and red fruits are layered with cassis, blackberry and dark cherry, while the Cabernet varieties bring freshness, lift and structure. The tannins are fine, polished and silky, giving the wine great depth without losing its elegance. Exceptionally long and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, violet, cedar, spice and a fresh, elegant lift.

Winemaking & Ageing

The grapes were hand-harvested parcel by parcel between 17 September and 12 October 2018, allowing every plot and grape variety to be picked at optimum maturity.

Vinification was carried out with great care to respect the purity of the fruit. Château Figeac used gentle extraction, lower fermentation temperatures and carefully controlled pump-overs to avoid harshness and retain aromatic freshness. Each parcel was vinified separately before the final blend was created.

The wine was then matured in French oak barrels, predominantly new oak, for approximately 15–18 months. The oak is well integrated, adding texture, gentle spice and complexity while allowing the fruit and distinctive Cabernet character of Figeac to remain at the centre.

Already impressive, Château Figeac 2018 will reward patience and develop beautifully in the cellar for decades. Decant when young and serve with refined red-meat dishes, game or truffle-based cuisine.
