Winemaking
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only impeccable grapes were brought in for this beautifully balanced single varietal wine from Louis Jadot. Clos de la Barre Monopole 1er Cru Volnay is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The maturity of the grapes for this Pinot Noir wine is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In Burgundy, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in French oak barrels.
