Grape: Riesling
Rheingau Minerality
A fine, harmonious Riesling experience with the minerality of the Jesuitengarten terroir the perfect food companion.
The Winkeler Jesuitengarten Riesling Alte Reben trocken from the Rheingau winery Johannishof is a true delight that should not be missed. The “Jesuitengarten” vineyard, covering 26 hectares, is located directly by the Rhine between Winkel and Geisenheim. The vineyards face south-southwest with a gentle slope, creating a microclimate that promotes early budding, early flowering, and optimal ripening. With easily warmed soils composed of sandy loam and gravel, the Jesuitengarten is one of the warmest sites in the Rheingau. Thanks to a textbook late summer, the Riesling grapes achieved a high must weight.
The grapes for the Winkeler Jesuitengarten Riesling Alte Reben trocken come from vines that are at least 25 years old. This Riesling is fine and harmonious, with mineral notes that reflect the unique soil of the Winkeler Jesuitengarten. As a food companion, it pairs wonderfully with light meats, grilled dishes, or fish, but it also shines on its own, showcasing the best of Rheingau Riesling.
