Description
Grape: 100% Merlot
Winemaking and ageing
The 100% Merlot grapes were harvested between 14 and 21 September 2020. Vinification took place in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless-steel vats, using gentle maceration and controlled extraction. The wine was aged for 16–18 months in French oak barrels, with approximately 30–40% new oak. Vintage technical sheet.
Food pairing
Château Lafleur-Gazin 2020 pairs beautifully with:
- Beef fillet or Chateaubriand
- Grilled ribeye steak
- Roast lamb with rosemary
- Duck breast with red-wine sauce
- Slow-braised beef cheeks
- Roast veal
- Porcini mushrooms or truffle risotto
- Mature Comté, Gruyère or aged Cheddar
Serve at 16–18°C Zalto Glassware. Decant for approximately one to two hours before serving. It is drinking beautifully now but can continue developing through the early-to-mid 2030s when stored correctly.
