Description
Grape: 100% Merlot
Winemaking and maturation
The grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless-steel vats. Maceration and extraction are conducted gently and carefully to preserve the wine’s fruit, finesse and naturally supple character.
The wine matures for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels, with approximately 30 to 40% new oak.
The 2023 harvest took place between 7 and 19 September. Green harvesting and meticulous vineyard work were used to reduce yields and encourage consistent ripening throughout the vineyard.
Vineyard
The 21-acre vineyard is situated on the northern edge of the Pomerol plateau. Its soils combine gravel, clay and silt, while the vines have an average age of approximately 30 years.
Château Lafleur-Gazin has been managed by the Jean-Pierre Moueix team since 1976, and the property was acquired by Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix in 2020. The estate holds HVE Level 3 environmental certification.

Serving recommendation
Serve at approximately 16–18°C. Decanting for around one hour may help the young wine open and reveal its aromatic complexity.
