Description
Grape: 100% Syrah
Winemaking
La Landonne 2022 is produced from 100% whole-bunch Syrah.
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks with continuous pumping over. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration continue for at least four weeks, extracting the colour, structure and intensity associated with this exceptional vineyard.
Maturation
The 2022 vintage was matured for approximately 42 months in new oak barrels.
This extended maturation supports the wine’s concentration and longevity while adding roasted, smoky and spicy complexity.
Vineyard and terroir
La Landonne is situated on one of the steepest sectors of the Côte Brune in Côte-Rôtie.
The vineyard’s limestone-clay soils are exceptionally rich in iron oxide, contributing deep colour, pronounced minerality and powerful tannins.
The vines have an average age of approximately 50 years, while yields are limited to around 35 hectolitres per hectare.
