“Les Malconsorts” is an exceptional Premier Cru from Vosne-Romanée.

This Climat’s name is thought to refer to legal disputes between litigants who did not exhibit fair behaviour – hence the “mal” – to gain ownership of this magical piece of land that they held as common property (“consorts” in Latin).
Lying adjacent to “La Tâche”, “Les Malconsorts” is located in an area that is known to receive a particularly high amount of sunshine.

Description

Grape: 100% Pinot Noir

Maison Albert Bichot has been passed down for 6 generations since 1831 and today it manages individual Domaines rather than housing all sites under one property.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified in temperature-controlled cone-shaped oak vats. Vatting time for 20 to 28 days. The wine is aged in oak barrels (20% to 30% of which are new oak) for 14 to 18 months.
